The Government wants to hear from a broad range of stakeholders that have an interest in consumer transactions based on quantity including businesses, trade associations, enforcement authorities, consumers and consumer organisations. The evidence gathered from this consultation will inform the government’s plans to provide a choice on weights and measures for consumer transactions.

The DCMS Committee is launching an inquiry to consider whether changes are needed in the operation of the National Lottery as the process begins to award a new licence from 2023. The current operator, Camelot, has run the National Lottery since its launch in 1994.
The Committee is asking for written evidence from lots of different organisations and groups, including central and local government, the emergency services, medical professionals, health and safety and accident prevention specialists, people who work with or sell fireworks, and cultural and religious groups for whom fireworks often have a special significance.
The inquiry will lead to a report with recommendations to the Government. The report will be debated in the House of Commons and the Government will have to respond to the Committee's recommendations.
