New King Charles Banknotes to Enter Circulation on June 5th

The Bank of England has updated its advice for retailers on spotting counterfeit notes ahead of the introduction of the new King Charles banknotes next month.

The new advice from the Bank of England provides training materials that retailers can use to learn best practice for checking banknotes, including the new King Charles III banknotes. The advice highlights what to do if a counterfeit note is received, in addition to guidance dependent on whether the customer has left and how threatening they might be.

Waste Collection Rules Changing in Wales from 6th April

ACS is reminding retailers about changes to waste collection rules in Wales which come into effect from 6th April.

From Saturday (6th April), new regulations in Wales will mean that all businesses will need to arrange for the waste that they generate to be sorted into different categories and collected separately by their chosen waste collector. Scottish Government Confirms Further Details of Disposable Vapes Ban

The Scottish Government have published a new six week consultation on the implementation of the disposable vapes ban, expanding on the definition of a disposable vape and outlining the fines that will be issued to businesses who continue to sell and supply disposables after a ban.

The ban, which is scheduled to come into force in April 2025, is subject to separate regulations in Scotland which closely resemble those in England. Scotland are the first UK nation to provide more detail on their definition of a disposable vape, which is as follows:
